About the city

Reload your phone thanks to trees in Marrakech!

NEW You may have noticed it, but a new kind of tree to start "growing" in the ochre city! Photovoltaic trees are used to protect themselves from the sun, recharge their mobile phones or even take advantage of wifi to surf the Internet.

For the first time in Morocco, and always in an ecological and citizen concern, E-trees were planted in Marrakech. Supplied with voltaic panels, supposed to represent their foliage, these solar trees can recharge your mobile phone, digital tablet or electric bicycle. And if your 4G lets go, the tree also allows you to surf in wifi on the web. New services for citizens increasingly connected, entirely provided by solar energy and therefore free of charge.
A similar initiative had already been launched at COP22 in Marrakech from 7 to 18 November last year. E-trees were then planted in the heart of the COP22 village and in front of the railway station. Today, the project is expanding and we can find these new generation trees, everywhere in the ochre city.

Where to find the E-trees in Marrakech:
  • side of the square Jemaa el Fna
  • In front of the Medina Baladia
  • In front of Cyber Parc Arsat Moulay Abdessalam
  • Avenue Mohamed VI, at the Radema level
